On s'oriente plutôt sur l'automne... ça laisse le champ libre au
printemps à des SOTM nationaux, à l'été à des SOTM continentaux et à
l'automne on termine l'année en beauté ;)

Hi,
We need to be careful not to burn up everybody and make sure we don't
overstep on what we can handle. There are still just about 5-8 people
willing to contribute in some way so I think it's risky to start doing too
much too soon.
I think it's a good idea to organize smaller mapping events,
Hi,
Very ambitious, I like the idea lot! That being said I also have my doubts
but maybe that should not stop us of entertaining the idea. I also like
Julien's idea of doing a SOTM Belgium.
Anyway, you will have my full support in any of these initiatives. I also
think that if we would organize
Hi everyone,
Just my two cents on SOTM-2016.

Much thanks Ben for the clear proposal. I propose to focus on SOTM 2016
at ULB as our main goal and then, as fall back to have SOTM-Eu with
France if possible (Gael Musquet, former president of OSM-fr will be in
Brussels on April 25 as he told me at OpenBelgium) or SOTM-Be.
Let's go and
Great,
Check with the ULB, if they have done things like RMLL, FOSDEM and so on, they
should have a package deal specifically for such events.
About the dates: It depends on your target audience and local events (Belgian /
ULB local). So not to close to holiday periods (summer is possible
Hi,
It's maybe a bit quick to start discussing details like this :-)
If we have won the SOTM-2016 bid we will get help from the OpenStreetMap
Foundation team dedicated to organizing this. We should put together all
the necessary details for the bid the rest we can do later.

I think that State of the map belgium is a more wise choice. But
sometimes it is worthful to not being too wise...
I'm ok to help but I have also a lot of work...

I think if we're going to do it, we should do it right. Brussels is a great
location for such a conference. The ULB campus has proven to be a great
venue, look at FOSDEM, RMLL, Odoo (back when they were still OpenERP).

Hello all,
As Ben said, if there is any need in support for organising this, we’d be happy
to help.
One of the ideas for the next Open Belgium Conferences was even to have a
specific main theme (eg. OSM) each year in stead of trying to cover every Open
Knowledge aspect.

I was wondering if we should not organize a state of the map belgium

Dear all,
I have proposed and obtained that RMLL be organised in Brussels in July
2013.
I would like to propose that State of the map be organised at ULB in
Brussels in 2016.
Who would help in structuring the dossier and later help with the
local organization ?
Much thanks,
Nicolas
