lost attachments after restore to 3.99.3

I restored a backup file (from XP) into 3.99.3 running under Vista. Everything is working fine so far, except for all attachments in one account. The icon appears at the bottom of the message, but if I double click TB! crashes. Save As tells me the attachment is not there. I can see a heap
