You forgot to ask what would happen if Obama wins, David, which IMHO, I believe
he will.
Prices will probably go down, as they'll expect Congress and a new president,
both Democrat controlled,
to look into things.
Not that they'll do anything, but, they will look into it.
My best guess is
Another thing which ISNT being done
You can make petroleum out of COAL for about $40 a barrel.
Screw ethanol and making diesel out of soybeans!
There's a LOT of coal out there - why are we being raped at the gas pump?!?!
And while you probably cannot directly pin the world price of oil on
Just my personal opinion, but I don't think gas is going down at all...whoever
wins. The oil producing companies...both saudi and south american...are not
going to increase production. And we just keep guzzling it down. Law of supply
and demand here! I don't know what you guys are paying now,
Agreed on supply vs demand. Consumption has hardly slowed down with the
price.
A boycott on gasoline would certainly turn the price back.
But like THAT is going to happen!

Blame the environmentalist for fighting the use of our vast US coal resources.
I presume that they would prefer high gasoline prices.

A boycott of the duration to make OPEC take notice is most unlikely as it would
bring the US to a standstill.

Imagine if your neighborhood only had one or two gas stations
and that they were closed on Sunday and they only had one
pump for 2 lanes of traffic.
That is the way I remember the early 70's gas crisis.
Back then, I could have never imagined a RaceTrack Gas Station
with 24 pumps, nor one where
If any establishment was closed for one day of the week, as many are, consumers
would allow for this and plan for it. It could cause an inconvenience on road
trips.

Wavy,
Did you even bother to look at the site? This has nothing to do with urban
