Does anyone know if the chemicals used by exterminators, parrticularly
against
roaches, is more dangerous to TM'ers than to healthy peoople? Obviously
no
exposure to chemicals is better than any exposure, especially with a
compromised
immune system.

Just for the record, gang, I now have confirmation
that toxic molds caused my TM.from TWO famous environmental docs here in the
US.
MANY others from my former workplace have tm (or
sudden inability to walk) as well the "employer" has taken NO
responsibility. GO
I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS, BUT I HAD A BAD SIGMOID COLON PROLAPSE, WHICH
IS WHY I COULDN'T "GO" TO THE BATHROOM VERY WELL AT ALL. SINCE I HAD THE
SURGICAL REPAIR OF THAT IN APRIL 2005, I'M DOING MUCH BETTER IN THAT WAY--
ONLY HAVE TO USE A LARGE GLASS OF PRUNE JUICE 1-2 TIMES A WEEK. YOU
Hi Jill,
I think those feeling are very common among people
with tm. I was taking tegratol for those burning, tingling feelings.
Now I am taking lyrica. I have never had any tingling in my head
though. my leseion is at t4-5. It is a very scary thing, waiting to
see if it will ever come

I have had TM for
four years and Barbara describes it exactly as I have experienced it. And
Tegretol amost did me in. My neuro was on vacation and when she got back I was
in a very, very bad way! My liver started shutting down. Baclofen did nothing
for me. I am now on Lyrica the
Good morning Jill,
I'm not taking anything at this time for the
burning, tingling feelings. I tried Lyrica and Cymbalta and both gave
severe diarrhea (uncontrollable). Both caused weight gain and I certainly
don't need that. My neuro doesn't seen to think my TM is anything to worry
about.
I HAD INJECTIONS FROM TOP OF MY SPINE TO VERY BOTTOM ON EACH SIDE, NOT
STERIODS. IT WAS PAIN MANAGEMENT IN HOSPITAL. IT WORKED FANTASTIC.
I CAN GO AND HAVE IT DONE WHEN I NEED IT. I HAVE A HIGH TOLERANCE FOR PAIN
HAVE NOT HAD IT DONE IN 3 YEARS.WHATEVER THEY GAVE ME WORKED WONDERS, THEY SAID
Jude,
I know this fits your question personally, but it might help someone else in an
HMO also. I was in your same HMO since its existence until I went on Medicare
May 2006. Michigan Blue Care Network no longer has territories. The HMO
allows you to cross what used to be the territory lines
I had asked this question back in may? I think and the more I read about the pesticide spray the more I realized it can INDEED impact the symptoms of our TM/MS...it can compromise them..so i asked my landlord not to spray IN my house (due to my TM and my small animals) and not to spray in my
There are days I feel stiffer and more wobbly than others, and I do not take anything for the burning, I just usually add a cooling gel and it subsides when the gabapentin kicks in...I also do not do anything for the little foot spasms I have for mine are pretty tolerable.I also do my *rehab your
I agree. Do the bomb. The
effects from the fumes do a good job in killing them nasties and then they
dissipate in just a few hours, the fumes, that izz. Go for
it.
Some years back we did bombs for fleas as nothing else would
get rid of them. We'd leave the house for a few hours and
well, welcome youve come to the right place for support and answers, since you are so early into this, take my advice and see a specialist that deals with this disease "TM".the majority of neuros dont know alot about it and will somtimes give you the wrong advice or be to quick and jump the gun with
I worked in a school that was renovated and an entire new wing added. My computer lab was upstairs and next to me was a 5th grade teacher. Eventually she switched schools andwe lost contactwith each other for a few years. In February of 2002 I was hit with TM. In May I went to Johns Hopkins for a
Marie: Doctors have their opinions--and you have yours. I just got back
from my (local) neurologist, and she still says my diagnosis is Transverse
Myelitis. Dr. Kerr is sure it was caused by the B-12 deficiency.
Whatever--the results are the same. I'm not taking anything for my
burning,

Kevin,
I was in the Termite and Pest Control industry for several years
(technician, sales, supervision) and was state certified in 5 categories so
had knowledge of several pesticides. I have been out of the business for a
few years before I was hit with TM so do not believe (and my
