I would like to give servlet and jsp support for
Apache Virtual Hosts.
Tomcat 3.2 does support virtual hosts but by running
separate instances of tomcat and multiple JVM's. Is it
possible to configure tomcat to support virtual hosts
to run under a single JVM just like Jserv does it.

you shouldn't have to do a whole lot to tomcat.conf.
however, when tomcat starts up it generates a file called "mod_jk.conf-auto"
so in your httpd.conf you would include it like this
Include /usr/java/tomcat/conf/mod_jk.conf-auto
hope this helps, the mod_jk-HOWTO doc describes this really well
Tomcat 3.2 no longer reads the "conf/web.xml" file (this functionality
is restored in Tomcat 4.0). in the mean time, add these settings
to your application's own web.xml file instead.

I had the same problem, but they advised me here. You're probably using JDK
1.3 which causes this problem (it's on their bug-list). Use JDK 1.2.2
instead and it will work fine.

I was getting similar problems with Apache1.3 and Tomcat 3.2 (final)
in my case whenever an exception occurs Tomcat setting (in the web.xml)
would catch the exception and successfully redirect to an error page.
But in case of error codes somehow...

encrypted or plain-text passwords. Different versions of Windows may treat

tomcat/jakarta/etc
stuff in your classpath. it could be picking up the old stuff first
(earlier in
