This sounds like IE's old ignore the mime type issue. Does the requested URL
end in .xml? If not, IE may not recognize it as an xml file even with
correct mime typing.

okay, but according to the docs, the start script throws away your classpath
and rebuilds itwhere do I put the entry in that case? you mean i should
copy the tools.jar to the tomcat/lib directory
I suppose adding a symbolic link to JAVA_HOME/lib/tool.jar should work.

I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean. I am using the default
tomcat4 settings, so I am using cookies I guess
on in the background.

Our application does the same thing (openning child browser windows and
closing them) and we have no problems with IE 5.5. We have not tried I.E.
6.0 yet, so I can't comment on that. We are running Tomcat 4.0 on Win NT
and 2K
users happy

If so, you need to define P3P policy descriptors on your site...
