Hi John,
further up this thread you say that the Touch will switch to
asynchronous mode with for example the Ayre QB-9. Which Touch firmware
is needed to achieve this?

As an aside, I was having a problem with the mediasmart collector

I discovered that the server finds them more easily

One quick question - does the flac vs wav affect the accuracy and
playback quality of the resulting music?
Some of the things I have read do not agree on that point.

If done properly, no, lossless is lossless.
With your volume issue, here is a quick (albeit
As Mnyb suggests, if you are going to be switching between SBS and
MySB.com, add switch to MySB.com to your Home Menu.
Touch Settings Home Menu switch to MySB.com
SBS will do anything and everything MySB.com can do, plus much more.
There is no actual need to switch between the two, unless
anybody has a workaround for this? Is quite annoying when you see the
wrong title on the touch..

I will hammer netgear because technically anything has to be sold fit

therefore not fir for purpose.

I run Squeezebox Server of a relatively low spec NAS with no problems.
Perhaps you should install SBS on your NAD before purchasing , and
check its performance with the software Squeezebox player Squeezxeplay
- then you'll at lerast know whether it works!

The Touch's OS is Linux, but it certainly is not a regular Linux
distribution. It is customized for the Touch's limited hardware and
specialized purpose of serving music. I haven't followed the details
closely, but I am pretty sure you would first have to install (and
possibly build) the client
