I can recommend the ZTE Blade - using it myself with squeeze
I use the HTC Desire (not HD), and can recommend it to both crazyj and
pippin. I'm happy with it. Quick, stable (probably just because I
haven't hacked it silly), and the hardware is surprisingly non-flimsy
for that kind of phone. It also runs SqueezeCommander well.
The only gripe I have is that

To each their own, but I dont think you are being fair to HTC. Its a
first generation Android phone. If one continually updates ones OS on
older generation phones, problems occur. Take iOS4 and ipod Touch 2Gs
and Iphone3Gs. That update essentially destroyed those devices.

LOL. Well, I personally prefer tactile buttons for answering, dialing,
and other phonecall-related stuff (I like being able to dial a
memorized number while driving, without taking my eyes off t
+1 for iPeng and iPhone. The iPhone 4 is supposed to have better battery
capacity now.
The great iPeng remote on its own is an excuse enough to get the
iPhone.

I use SB Touch and iTunes and I am struggling with frequent dropouts and
rebuffering. I have tried both wireless and Ethernet but the problem
persists. Surely there must be a thread in here that addresses this

are you using ?
You are aware ofthat you have to redo the network setup when going to
ethernet instead of wires ? Just sticking in a cable wont make it not
wifi.

internet content, and what is the file format? Are you using Tiny SBS
or the full featured SBS running on a server.

Touch firmware: 7.5.1 r9218
SBS Latest 7.6 beta, but slightly irrelevent as occurs on 7.5.x.
Touchscreen and IR remote work great, can navigate the menus fine.
If I start to use either the SBS interface, iPeng or Squeeze Commander
on Android, I guess anything that controls the touch
Can I just add that the Touch is connected via ethernet and gets it's IP
address from a Windows 2003 DHCP server that also has SBS installed.

I'm trying to avoid getting a new DAC although it seems that might be
where I'm heading.
The truth of the matter is that along with the Touch, I absolutely love
using Ipeng or Squeezepad on my Ipad for control of my music.

Adding another item to what others have mentioned.also check to make
sure the computer and/or NIC card that are serving SBS are not going to
sleep/waking up/going to sleep. I had endless fights w/both my Vista

I don't see anything like that. If you're running Squeezebox Server
7.6.0 you should probably have firmware 7.6.0 r9243. Enable software
updates if they're not already. Settings > Advanced > Software

I've tried to update the firmware to the new version but it keeps
telling me I have the latest i.e. 9218 and asks me if I want to
re-install it. I'll give it another go.
Done a few factory resets, both from the interface and the button.

disk has been damaged (the squeezebox do not work any more with that
