I have tried the Paragon software on my Ubuntu box, and it does give
full read+write access to Journaled HFS+ formatted drives. However I
can currently only access it as root, and unmounting as non-root from
the desktop can corrupt the entire HFS volume beyond repair. So I think
it needs more
I have the patch installer installed on my Touch, but it doesn't see
the patches - when I click on Patch Installer nothing happens.
Do the patch istaller and volume patch work on sbs 7.54?

I probably can but that would leave me with no anti-virus defence, a

No. The Touch hardware is NOT faulty and is not the cause of your

There's plenty more stuff to do yet :-)
Hi Phil,
I hear and accept what you say BUT
This is truly weird are you really sure that it actually transcoded flac
to wav before
According to spec the TS210 has a:
Marvell 6281 800MHz CPU ? this should not be able to run the flac
binary needed to transcode. (or the SOX binary th transcode hirez to
other rates)
Did you

Hi Phil,
Herewith today's logs after a 'full' rescan but please remember that
both scans bailed out after 483 track (IIRC) out of the 9550.
Thanks for your continuing patience - I must admit mine is wearing

I just got my Touch on Friday ( 4/15), love it.
I have an Enlightened Audio Design ( EAD) DSP 7000 DAC. I have been
using a ST glass fiber between it and my EAD T7000 transport. They are
both circa 1990s. So I hooked up the Touch via its analog output to my
Mod Squad Deluxe Line Drive ( passive).
It should be 75 ohm coaxial cables aka video cable aka catv cable or
similar you can cet cheap and good ones from bluejean cable or marcus
cable (belden with canare conectors) , but it is an undemanding task so
it can work with a straightened out coat-hanger to on short distances

So far seems to sound ok, but then my audio ears arent what they used to
be 20 or so years ago! Had a real high end system back then. I had to
take some old Mirage SM-2.5 speakers out of mothballs to use with an

Afiak EAD was the only ones that used ST cables back then, it is not the
same cable nor is it the same transcievers and recievers as Tos, optical
can be finicky about such things.. It migth not work at all.
Coax seems to be the natural choice here,it is usually better
implemented than toslink in
Oh how I miss my Infinity RS-1s and then Betas, with my Shotgun speaker
and interconnect cables. I still have my QuickSilver mono tube amps and
my Pereaux 2150 ( for the bass modules). I miss my VPI TNT TurnTable and
VPI record cleaner too. I still have all my records. Probably should

I miss much of my old stuff to, but I got a new idea recently sell it
cheap or give it away to friends and family then you can revisit it :)
My old Dynaudio speakers are at friends so i can listen when I'm
visiting.

Could be interesting Touch's DAC chip is most likely superior, but then
again it's much more to it in a complete DAC implementation, it is also
a passive pre involved ?
have fun
