do we actually have any evidence that logitech are still committed to
the squeezebox product line?
seems to me that it's entirely possible that development has been
canned and they'll never be a new one.

why not something very simplistic, a device with nothing but an hdmi
output ? A small dongle that can hang on to your amp/ processor, size
of a matchbox ethernet input only as it should do hirez video too.
thats the only thing most modern hifi or hometheater needs ?

Ooops there really is a player setting for fixed volume, I'm still
suffering the bug when iPeng language infects the Touch menu language,
and the translations sux especially when mixed.
( I really wished that iPeng respected the server language )

OK, thanks, am still on 7.5.5 and have just changed from a ReadyNAS NV+
to an Ultra4+ : the responsiveness / performance are in such a
completely different league that I don't really feel the need to play
with 7.6 at the moment !
All crossfades / replaygain etc are off - and I've locked volume
You mean iPeng makes the TOUCH show the wrong language???
I don't believe that and if it does it's clearly a touch bug.

It is an SBS bug well known to M Herger ;) Every Squeezeplay device
selected by iPeng and probably any other similar app, provokes this
behavior .

Specifically the album tags. I discovered yesterday that about 40 to 50
albums worth of songs were dumped into the no album category even
though the tags don't appear tweaked.
I reset my Touch, reinstalled server and rescanned. Some of those
albums are back to normal but the majority are still
Have you used MP3Tag or a similar program to examine the tags for the
files in question? I always manually check the tags before I add music
to my Squeezebox music folder and haven't had any problems.

These are albums that I addded some time ago. I am examining the tags
via MediaMonkey. The only consistent oddity that I am finding has to do
with the album art apparently not being applied to each song, but I
update any tag that is allegedly missing (genre, album and artist - or

Aha, well, if I always had control of my senses (and my wallet !) I'd
also be slumming it with an analogue sub, but I felt the need for
some retail therapy and now possess a couple of Meridian
floorstanders that apparently don't feel the need for any low-frequency
support ;)

My nice new Squeezebox Touch downloaded and installed the latest
software update
Now I dont even get the clock !
Im not trying to do any streaming yet as my home network is not
working properly
