Setting presets is a laborious business. For some reason, all mine were
lost, and I had to painfully recreate them.
Where are they stored? Is it possible to make a copy so next time they
screw up I could just restore the settings?

If it is any consolation, I USED to have loads of problems with my USB
drive (unexpectedly stopped messages, very slow response times, music
stuttering on playback). Now I have no issues at all since I learned to
follow these simple rules.
1. Remove all non-music files from your drive (except

Not for me. I add new music (with covers) to my directly-connected
drive every few days, and it always picks up the covers without having
to do a clear-and-rescan.

I operate a SB Touch in standalone mode, and together with my DACMagic I
love it.
However, one thing that annoys me is the fact that my personal tagging
system seems to be supplemented with tags that the Touch finds on-line.
I like to tag the artist names as surname, first name (e.g. Dylan,
Bob)

also have squeezebox controller installed on an Android phone.
The problem is that I can only seem to get one of the squeezeboxes (DS)
to 'register' and therefore only one of them

wich means that you have two sets of presets at least as each server
you are using can have different settings for the player including
presets .
I would avoid using mysb.com directly and only use it via the local

I like to set the SBT volume at about 50% and then I can use my laptop
as a remote control on my Audio system. If I set it at 100%, I can not

While connected to mysb.com I accidentally upgraded my Touch to 7.6 (was
going to skip it for a while). So far, though, TinySBS/TinySC has
worked ok with my USB drive. I have the bug where the screen turns on
randomly, but so far that's all I've noticed...

Use MP3tag to look at the extended tags.
If you're using FLAC then you may have an ALBUMARTIST tag set which
won't show on the main page as that defaults to ALBUM ARTIST, and would
be treated as two different tags by SBS.
It looks most likely as if you've got a Surname, Firstname tag in one
tag
