It's an SBS (not iPeng's) bug, and one that I find particularly

You might want to add a little more information to that bug report.
Ubecause Pippin said it was. But now that I look back at that
interchange I think he cited a different bug. Seems we may have two
bugs filed for the same problem??? See below:
Ah, ok. I'll dupe them then. Thanks!

Any idea what does?
Or should I just abandon this foolishness and get a record player?

Thanks, Michael. Maybe I'm in the minority, but the way I've got my
music folder organized, it's quite conducive for locating my music, so
I use it often as opposed to genres, albums, or artists which I use

When it sounds bad what are you playing? - your own rips? - how exactly
were they done?

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't
Could be because Spotify is not replay-gained (no API support for it)
and your own rips are? Louder sometimes sounds better.
320k Vorbis should be basically indistinguishable for probably

Good point. Spirit is much louder. And evidence shows that even slight

Will reply to my own thread. After reading some experiences from other
users I downgraded to server 7.5.5
This is really a relief, it seems most of the problems are gone and
spotify works reliable as well. server 7.6.x is very unreliable and has
a lot of connection problems.

Perhaps there is something going wrong on the USB controller side.
Or:
You could also try to set snd-usb-audio parameters, such as nrpacks .
I'm not sure though if you can do that on the Touch.
Hi Klaus, I did try nrpacks, it makes no difference for
squeezeslave only does 44.1. There is an alternative which is

VBP has some problems, it only works with the SBS in VB (I think its
just a configuration file that lets SBS know the capabilities of VBP),
and it only runs on the linux distribution in

You migth prefere the compresssed sound of spotify, a more correct
reproduction off the source migth not be to your liking ?
Also make sure that the replaygain feature is off.
Some very bad sounding modern pop recordings migth sound better by
being processed by spotify or some radiostation,

It's that a bit backwards, given that he thinks Spotify sounds better?

Oh yeah. I'd forgotten that 'net radio is generally louder and that
nearly all of today's CDs that you rip will have negative, not positive
ReplayGain.
