rgro, I also have a Rega dac and have used it via usb from the SBT
thanks to Triode's work. I found there was quite a difference in
presentation compared to spdif. Which you prefer is subjective, but you
should give it a try. The changes are easy to reverse.

Hi All,
I received my SBT few days back. This is my setup
1)SBT connected to external HDD through USB
2)Connected through wi-fi to home network/internet
Now I have my song collections in the HDD like
songs--flac--language--xxx.flac
songs--mp3--language--xxx.mp3
songs--playlists--xxx.m3u
The touch runs the software it's self. Or you can run it on the NAS the
iPad is only used as the UI. I suggest iPeng for the iPad which will
also turn the iPad into a playback device as well.

It sounds as if you have your HDD connected directly to the Touch ? LMS
is installed on the HDD ? If so, turning off the Touch and restarting
it will cause it to rescan your music library.
You mention it is connected via wi-fi to your home network. Given that
you have a home network it will all
You are right. I have connected the external HDD directly to STB. But I
have not installed anything on the external HDD.
I can connect this HDD to my laptop and install LMS in my laptop, but I

I received this reply from Logitech today:
It will do this until you fully setup the Squeezebox Touch using a
network connection. This is the normal setup prompts. Once you do the
setup that should not show up again and you can go to using it as you

I assume this means I'll need to
Sure about the paths ?
Linux is case sensitive so if the file and folder names don't match
exactly it's not going to work .
Are you familiar with ssh and some Linux ? I would log on to the Touch
and investigate the file permissions on your playlist versus the ones
created by the Touch and open

I got an additional response to my doubts:
You will want to setup the Logitech Squeezebox Touch with a network
first and then go through the setup. Once this is done you can
disconnect from your network and it will always go to the HOME screen
when you turn it on.
I'll try it. Hope this helps
According to what documentation ? USB thumb drives USB hard drives and
SD cards ? But iPods via USB ?
Have no iPod but in general anything with more than one partition is
problematic maybe it tries to mount the iPod part of it ? Touch
mounts the first partition it sees .

I think it depends on the iPod. For instance, my 5.5G 80GB iPod will
mount as a USB mass storage device (meaning, it shows up in Windows as
a disc drive with a drive letter associated with it). My iPod Touch
will not.
So, unless you are using an old iPod that can mount as a mass storage

As I stated, I can mount my iPod to my PC, no issue. (means I see it
under a drive letter as you mentioned)
thanks anyhow

Are you running a full LMS on a computer? If so just go to My Music or
in the Advanced area Switch Library, on the Touch. If you are using
the Touch's Server and switched to Squeezebox.com, then go to Advanced
Switch Library and point to the USB drive.

cheers for the reply, but i've looked at all (i think) settings on pc
based LMS and on the device.
on mysb.com under the 'player' tab, i saw other configuration tabs:
general, network, display, audio, menus, alarms.
there were more configuration settings (with display and menu at least)

Ahhh. Sweet success.
Went home during my lunch break, grabbed my TOUCH and brought it into
the office (I don't have internet at home).
I connected it to the internet and went through the set up (most of my
preferences were preserved), powered off, disconnected the ethernet,
powered up again and
If you use the button in back to do the FACTORY RESET, it goes further
back in resetting than choosing FACTORY RESET on the touch screen (that
was my experience).
You can try that.

No - I had originally selected that, and then unselected it. But, as
someone above said, the issue turns out to be the SYNC between
SqueezeServer and MYSB - on re-boot, the system seems to take the
higher of the two settings. Reducing *both* to 70% (or whatever%)
seems to work.
