Just to chip in, I have replaced one of my touches with raspberry pi 3b
with hifiberry dac+ pro (rca version) and can confirm sound quality is
as good as from touch.
You can also get nice steel case for it as I did
https://www.hifiberry.com/docs/archive/datasheet-dac-pro/
I have never seen any performance improvement after removing
"unnecessary plugins" so I don't think it's necessary and simpler better
doesn't really apply on lms. Perhaps someone can correct me if that's
not the case.
In terms of my selection of essential plugins ( or maybe just favorites
)

Sorry missed comment about remembering settings position.. Does that
survives power it completely off. By removing power cable?

I assume IR remote still works if you wanna disable beeps.. ?
If so you could enable SSH blindly knowing menu structure.. ie power
off and on , wait then go down x times , right, down x times , right

Is it possible to further reduce Touch minimum screen brightness below
level in settings? Even on minimum level and with black wallpaper there
is still fair amount of light emitting from Touch sitting on bedside
table. Is that physical limit ie as low as display panel goes? I would
like to use
Nevermind, manual ssh method works :)

I have successfully turned off IR Remote on SB Radio as per
https://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Disable_IR_remote_reception
However same patch is not available on my SB Touch even when wiki page
quotes it alongside Radio.. [emoji848]
Anyone had luck disabling remote on SBT?
Thanks
3x

Might it be worth scheduling a new and changed scan for 4am in the
morning or similar time. At least that way it'll be out the way and done
every night. In theory if the music folder navigation is being slowed by
scanning it will help, possibly.
