That has happened to me in the past and is a PITA for sure. SOMETIMES if
you delete the squeezebox cache folder on the USB drive
and then remove and attach the drive it fixes it, after it does a full
scan.
I have had to go back to an earlier firmware a few times in the past
when 7.6 was out but
Very welcome and if you feel brave you can let it update to 7.7.1 again.
At least you know a way to go back..

the fab4x.bin file. Just a FYI, if you are using
Internet Explorer it seems to want to save a bin file as zip. Be sure
to change it back to bin before you copy it to your Touch USB drive.

it a ZIP extension instead. So
mannually change it to BIN. I am using I.E. 8.0 so it might just be the
version I am using.

I seem to remember reading elsewhere in this forum USB 3.0 does not work
or does not work well with the Touch...
Of course I could be mistaken which I am sure someone will chime in and

the attached hard drive ( to which I was copying the new
directory) and the music never stopped, never buffered. That has never
happened before I always had pauses. I haven't tried it with 9478
yet...

I thought I was the only one having this problem with the nightly
updates.
I had to revert back to 9468 myself. I guess I will try the nightly
updates till it works. I just have to assume since they are just beta
testing this is to be expected...

Yeah know that, but I didnt rip this and no cue file was given so the
Touch doesn't see it
I couldnt really find anything online other than flac spliters. Maybe
they can generate a cue file..

Thank you for the suggestions guys. I think I will leave well enough
alone and keep the playlist at 100 on the Touch Tiny SBS. Heck just
sitting for 100 songs at one time is a lot, I cant see sitting that
long for 500 anyway!

It is POSSIBLE the USB on the Touch does not have quiet enough power for
your HD causing weird stuff to happen. It is always best to get an
external HD which has its own power supply...

not keep my PC on all the time.. So if I didnt

if the EAD update allows 24
bit and if not I will have to look elsewhere. Any suggestions on a good
albeit inexpensive DAC? Or are the inexpensive ones no better than what
I have right now with the EAD ( which cost over 2k in the early 90's)

getting used to the EAD/Touch combo and to me it
sounds better than the Touch alone. I will go back to the analog of the
touch after a while. I assume one can have both outputs ( Digital and
analog) connected at the same time? Maybe I will do that and just
switch between the two.

glass fiber cable from the Touch to the DAC. So I guess what I am
