I'm a longtime Boom owner who just got a Touch. As I've done with my
Boom, I'd prefer to have the digital clock displayed on the Touch as a
screensaver when it's powered off, but I'm concerned whether that would
put the longevity of the Touch's screen at risk, especially as they're
no longer being
My Touch is a couple of years old now and I leave it on 24/7. The
display still works fine. When idle, my Touch shows the clock and
weather forecast from the SDT plugin.
On the positive side, the Touch has an environment light sensor that
adjusts the display brightness according to the available

Thanks for the tips. As my Touch is fairly new, I haven't looked much
yet at patches, and wasn't aware of the Reduce Screensaver Brightness
patch. At the moment I think for my purposes it works to keep the Touch
set to manual brightness at a fairly low level, but not all the way
down, so it is for
