Hello All. First post here. Just bought a Touch, and need an External
Hard Drive to connect to it via the USB port. Probably 2 TBs. Any
recommendations based on experience? Low power and low noise please
(ideally no fans, and no whirring/whistling drives - solid state?):

Toby, thanks. Thats a lot to think about. Not being familiar with USB
External HDs of any description, I assume Sleep Mode is normal for
them, to save power and prolong life? Are there any particular
makes/models whose sleep mode isnt going to cause the Touch to rescan
library every time they
Different people have different rates of success w particular drives.

Thanks D. I realize now that a simple answer is probably not going to be
of much value. Yes, I was hoping to use the Touch as a standalone unit
(for internet radio and stored music files), but if my mucking around
with it over the past days had taught me anything, it is that the
