Having ALAC with the Touch in standalone can have some issues. I've got
my library entirely of ALAC, with some ACC, MP3 and a few FLACs and it
only took me a couple of hours after getting my Touch a couple of years
ago to decide to use a computer and have the full (now) LMS server.

But my approach has not been to create ALAC versions. Rather, I rip to

I'm not expertly versed in all details if this thing, but 128mb ram and
no swap is not much so anything migh apply .
Anyone experimented with the different forma

I will do some tests to see if this is reproducible on the same

Yes but not on all tracks and it has happened on tracks that have no
artwork, that I am sure about
