What version of Exaile are you using? I was reading this on the exaile
mailing list (
https://groups.google.com/group/exaile-users/browse_thread/thread/2ec3b505c46b44eb/f5167c4acffe347b?lnk=gst&q=pygobject#f5167c4acffe347b
) and it says:

Ta for the links, understand a bit more now.
Anyway, back to my Exaile issue!
Mono's problem is a patent issue. It isn't a software freedom issue. Mono
is free software which is why it is included. Software with patent issues
can be included in free distros assuming it is free

Yup, worked a treat!
I did read about that but assumed it must have been sorted as Banshee was in
the list in Trisquel's add/remove programs application.
Or should it not be there?
Hi, every install I've done of Trisquel 4.5 from a number of different
sources has given me this problem.
During boot I just get a blank screen with a flashing cursor in the top left.
No disk activity. If I do alt-F2 a couple of times I can eventually get to

Effectively their "sponsoring" is the very similar to our membership program.
Mainly just the terminology is different. The only other difference I
notice is that if an organization offers a service (e.g. hosting) they list
the price for that service as a monetary amount.
I meant latest version available in Trisquel (should have clarified). 3.0.x
is not a significant change from 2.6.x. If it doesn't work in the 5.0 Alpha
it is unlikely that upgrading to the 3.0 kernel will help.
Dagda uses the version 2.6.38 of linux-libre:
http://packages.trisquel.info/dagda/linux-image
It is two versions before the current 3.0 version:
http://www.fsfla.org/svnwiki/selibre/linux-libre/download/releases/3.0.4-libre/
Observe that Banshee uses Mono with all patent risks that it entails.
I would try from a Live system to chroot to your Trisquel root partition (I
suppose here that this partition is /dev/sda1 and that your /boot is not on a
separate partition):
sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt
cd /mnt
sudo mount --bind /dev dev
sudo mount --bind /sys sys
sudo mount --bind /proc proc

Feel free to make this theme! :-)
Any luck?
What version of Trisquel are you using? The answer may still be no. However
the easiest way to test so would be to install the Trisquel 5.0 alpha and see
if it works. The alpha contains the latest version of the linux-libre kernel
so it would have the best chance at working. You could jus
Can you explain a little more about this problem?
Banshee works, will do the job!
I most certainly will. I wanted to do it the first day I received your reply
but it was a little bit complicated to do for me until I discovered a
software on Trisquel to show me the informations needed to fill out the
h-node forms yet now I'm face-to-face with another problem where I can't e
Hi all,
I've been away from home for a couple days and when I wanted to turn my
netbook on today I encountered a DOS screen alerting me of an unknown file
system and asking me to use a grub rescue that I'm completely uninformed of.
I reckon this might be caused by the fact that I removed a
Couldn't play youtube here so I have done as SirGrant suggested and videos
from youtube are now working.
They are also working far better then they have in any other distro I have
installed. Full screen gives me no lag and excellent playback. Impressed!
Just installed Trisquel 4.5 from the 32 bit iso download.
Exaile not working. Have tried unistalling and reinstalling, before and after
initial updates. Have also reinstalled and same result.
From the terminal I get:

My issue is that I may install Gnome 3 or Unity down the road in Trisquel to
try it out but I'm not sure if the default theme carries over. I'm thinking
of trying this with the 11.10 codebase and most of the stuff switched over to
GTK. I'm not sure if anyone on the team or in the community ha
Your mention of "sponsoring" made me think of our "membering". t3g could
become a member (like you and me): https://trisquel.info/en/member
Yes, it would definitely be ideal for releases to be a month or two after
Ubuntu releases. However I don't believe this is realistic at the current
time. If you look at the size of the Mint team
(http://www.linuxmint.com/teams.php) it is significantly larger than ours
