One thing to note about resizing partitions: I'm pretty sure Trisquel uses
XFS for /home by default. XFS has some advantages over ext4, but it has a
disadvantage in that you normally can't reduce it in size. So if you want to
make sure you can resize it, you should set up your partitions manu
Usually, font requirements are for particular metrics of the font, not for
the exact look of the font. I just tried it; if you type "Impact" into the
font field of LibreOffice Writer, it chooses a font. I don't know what font
it is, but it's probably similar enough to Impact to work.

In OSX 10.6.8 on 1,1, your efi update app won´t run when click on it.
Yup, that's what I'm hoping for. Hopefully I'll be able to give a good review
on which of the four cards I'll have in total works best for me.
My router is already set to only n. It doesn't make any difference if the Mac
is present or not or if I move the thinkpad around.
output:
$ sudo lshw -C network

It's $25 for three cards, shipping included. That kind of money I can afford
to spend :)
You don't need to know how to use GCC to compile most programs. I've never
compiled Firefox or any of its derivatives before, but it should have
instructions in a file called something like "INSTALL" or "README". Usually
it's either based on GNU Autoconf, or CMake. Autoconf's method is:
./c
Honestly I do not know, how to do it... I never used GCC.
What is Your alternative recommendation? Icecat?
I like about Palemoon, that it is rather small and does not use Australis.
In order to prevent Orca from launching at Login screen (and resetting my
keyboard to us…), I also had to type in a shell:
cd /usr/share/gdm/autostart/LoginWindow
sudo mv orca-screen-reader.desktop orca-screen-reader.desktop.bkp

Not only this, here too much work when you buy a used laptop. You must to

Indeed. Perhaps someone who actually wants Pale Moon's old style should fork
Pale Moon and make their fork completely libre.
If you do use Pale Moon, you should only use the source distribution.
Compiz was installed by default on Trisquel 6. All the script did was tweak
some configuration scripts so that Compiz would actually run instead of
Metacity, or vice-versa.
Just follow the documentation: https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/compiz
'update-grub2' is a symbolic link to 'update-grub':
$ ls -l /usr/sbin/update-grub2
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 juil. 8 08:09 /usr/sbin/update-grub2 ->
update-grub
Calling one command or the other leads to executing the exact same program.
No difference whatsoever.
Your personal configuration is in hidden files inside your home directory. In
the case of Abrowser, it is in ~/.mozilla/abrowser. You can rename that
folder to experiment a fresh start. APT's "purge" refers to system
configurations (in /etc).
Pale Moon is proprietary: http://www.palemoon.org/redist.shtml

Not to mention far heavier on the hardware.
Besides, the Thinkpad T400 is only 1280p.

Try changing your software sources. If you can't get to the GUI to do this,
edit /etc/apt/sources.list (as root) and replace all the references to the old
address with the new one. Give mirror.fsf.org a shot. I use it- it's a bit
slow, but reliable as hell. Never had any problems.
ok but if you download a pdf file from the internet and open it and it
contains non-free fonts
is this the same as executing non-free software?
Also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Croscore_fonts.
And if you're doing this in LibreOffice, you can just type "Times New Roman"
as the font. You don't need to actually have the font installed.
Agreed. You really should avoid Trisquel Mini like the plague. You seem
perfectly capable of running Trisquel proper- 2.5GB 64 bit is more than good
enough.
Just use the Liberation series of fonts- check in LibreOffice (or whatever
office suite you use) to see if they're installed already. Liberation Serif has
the same metrics as Times New Roman (and will be printed as such by MS Word)
while Liberation Sans has the same metrics as the Arial series. The

It's not a great idea to run servers you don't need. (Eats resources and

I think BugRep is suggesting using the fonts on Trisquel, but embedding them
so Windows users don't get their formatting screwed up.

I'm not sure about getting Pale Moon to work, but one other browser you could
use is Abrowser (package abrowser), which like Pale Moon is based on Firefox,
though I think I've heard that Pale Moon made a point of sticking with
Firefox's old interface, which Abrowser doesn't do.
One thing I
i heard that fonts are just as complicated as software in some cases and so
non-free fonts are like running non-free software?
if so isn’t including non-free fonts in a PDF doc quite bad?
