Works fine. I don't understand the problem. The X200 from Minifree comes equipped with the Trisquel 7.0 as its default pre-installed operating system. I am also surprised at the mention of people discussing whether the Minifree is the right choice, but the OP doesn't want to discuss that so m

I was thinking the same thing. The panel transparency is too good. Personally, I was hoping for either XFCE or MATE. I like them both equally well. He has to move to something permanent, and flashback isn't. And it has to be something that doesn't demand compositing because Linux-libre doesn'

To reproduce it, find the version of your kernel, by running the command: uname -r For instance, I have: uname -r 3.13.0-88-lowlatency Then install the generic Linux image of the same version. For me, that is: sudo apt install linux-image-3.13.0-88-generic Then reboot and from the GRUB

I once had lots of trouble with network on Trisquel, after a netinstall. I believe that I did choose the generic kernel too when the installer prompted it. I put it down to some nutty hardware problem and nuked the installation. So I never found out what was wrong.

Ubuntu is based off Debian testing. It is a true 'fork' that is updated every 6 months, as opposed to Trisquel's deblobbing effort of Ubuntu. There's no point basing directly off testing/unstable as they constantly change as new packages are added and library versions often change. To this ex
