It's in the Trisquel repos; Trisquel only supports free software, so I
assumed it's free. But it's probably best to look try and check

OpenShot might work. I haven't tried it before; I'm guessing based on a

Is there a solution for this?
What if there were two books in the documentation. One English, and one
Spanish. Each documentation page could have a link at the bottom to the
corresponding page on the other book.
I don't know much about the documentation so this may be a bad idea for a
Or link at the top to the corresponding Spanish/English page in the other

Sorry for the three responses. I just tried that link you mentioned. I see

The other pages seem to work fine in Spanish, French, Italian, Galician,
German.
Just the one page. Strange.
Gnome2 had an applet to control screen brightness. It worked even if the

There was a terminal command that controls screen brightness too ... I wish I
could remember it.
I found it; I hope this works for you.

I tried Marble and I'm really happy with it.
I'll give Okular a try - thanks for the recommendation lembas.
I tried Ctrl+Alt+F1 again today; this time the error message happened after I
logged in, and before I opened Emacs.
I should have posted that Ctrl+Alt+F7 is how to come back to GUI Trisquel, in
case someone used the F1 key combination and got stuck there.
Thanks a lot guys! I'll check out Jxself's site.
Thanks a lot guys, these all look great. I'll give them a try, and add a few
to the documentation.
Thanks! I'll try Ctrl+Alt+F1 on my desktop computer to get used to the

use some applications like emacs in text mode. Then I'll give NetInstall a
go.
This just happened to me too, on the computer I hoped to use as a server.

I'm looking for server hardware. I'll probably choose from an old netbook at

If we post our ideas on the forum, we discuss the ideas more easily than on a

don't mind either way.
I read somewhere that serif fonts are easier to read than sans serif fonts.
Wikipedia says so as well, but it also says that studies have been
inconclusive.
What do you guys think? If Serif is probably easier to read, should we
change the Documentation's body text to a serif font?

I hit the burn button right before reading your post Icaro! It's okay lol,
I don't mind so much. I'll use k3b next time.
I used the Convert to ogg program. With the highest quality setting, the

Great find! Thanks for posting

It's in F-Droid. It would be cool to have something like that for Trisquel.
Could you guys recommend one? I know about openstreetmaps but I'd prefer
something that isn't a service.
They're at $33 000. Is this game in the Trisquel repos?
How do we install that in Trisquel? There won't be any redundant programs

right?
Bragging about features misses starchild's point. That free software is a
community-controlled public good. That it works for the users' interests.
It's fine to recognize things that proprietary software does better, or
express that kind of opinion.

It looks interesting and useful; I might give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Tral, I definitely will

You're right, that's a good point.
Let's say I drop the GPL paragraph. Without it, the remaining concerns are
(1) free market, and (2) platform-exclusive support.
Could the Crown choose a proprietary format, that is licensed to many
companies, and meet those two concerns? If so, what's
Here's my second draft. Please let me know if it's missing anything, or if I

I have three landscape-oriented png images. They're each something like 1700
x 1200.
Can put them into a three-page pdf document? I'd like to keep the image
quality, and horizontal orientation too if possible.
Is there a program that will do this?
I could put the pngs into LibreOffice Writer. But Writer has the white-space
border around the image. I can stretch the image to cover that border, but I
don't know how to stretch it to scale. the png gets distorted either
vertically or horizontally when I do this.
Oh ... LO Office has a program called Draw. And it does exactly this. And
it did it perfectly.
