And yet the idea of putting something out
there that could and will fail in mysterious ways sometimes isn't very
appealing. I'd like to strike a balance between simplicity and versatility.
We want a simple and natural way for people to specify their annotations
(i.e. minimal use of ornate or obscure punctuation with cryptic semantics).
So here's my question: How would you design it?
