mon portable démarre, ce n'était pas le cas.
Il me fallait éditer menu.lst et mettre l'option dans la ligne
noacpi ou noapic fonctionne, j'ai pu installer ubuntu, j'ai utilisé noapic.
J'espère seulement ne pas perdre en contrôle sur le portable...

This is not really a problem about xfont-wqy versions, but about
packaging. The old Debian/Ubuntu package compresses the PCF fonts,
which is the reason for the slow down. Now Debian has fixed this bug by
using uncompressed PCF fonts, and Ubuntu hardy has synced the new
version, so this bug is

First i installed the nvidia-glx package, but the 3D acceleration will not
active. Then i attempt to install the nvidia-glx-new package.

my soundcard doesn't work right with alsa driver. I can hear sounds but
headphones jack is not recognized and volume wheel doesn't work too. So
i decided to upgrade to latest ALSA and that led me to the problems i
have reported.
