I've seen that before where people have managed to associate folders with totem.
If you want to fix it, run nautilus, right click on a folder and go to
the Open With tab and make a more useful selection than Totem.

somehow programming the chip incorrectly because once the flickering starts it
doesn't stop, even rebooting into the BIOS continues to do it for me.

and it produced the attached logfile. Near the end it looks like it's

ThyMythos: I don't think that post proves it is definitely a X server
problem - it's a strong suspicion among the people investigating this,
but as yet there is no solid evidence of what is causing it and allowing
it to happen.
Removing the e1000e module will mean that the EEPROM is not mapped
are correct either.
There is definitely a serial interface presented in PC Suite mode - I
was able to probe the caps of /dev/ttyACM0 by hand afterall. I've not
yet patched the function to say why it's failing though.

apache2.conf missing many language

I don't think mod_mime makes any difference, and this is an example of why:

rather than complicate this already long bug with things about trying to
run the Intrepid kernel on Hardy, I would suggest you download the
latest Intrepid Alpha CD and boot that.
