I also have the same problem with Ubuntu 6.06 but on a Acer TravelMate
529 TXV.
Booting stops as it tries to load the cd-module.
The same thing happens when I try booting Kanoptix 2006 RC4

As an alternative, can someone tell me how to keep both these packages
installed? I can install libapache2-mod-php5 normally, and add
libapache2-mod-pgp4 manually with dpkg --force-conflicts, but I can't

To make one master-fader out of the two DAC-outputs (left and right) I

Adding files to /etc/skel is pretty gross, and recommended against by
policy for good reasons. Code changes to avoid the file being owned by
root when being invoked by sudo would be better, even though those would

maybe a wishlist bug (which isn't a bug)... but anyway... I think kdesu
should behave like sudo. Our docs say to use kdesu in place of sudo for
launching KDE GUI apps, and sudo preserves $HOME. I expect kdesu to

using the command 'scilab

As a temporary workaround, while we're waiting for the new version to be
released, it's possible to run scilab in text (i.e. non-windowed) mode
using the command 'scilab -nw'. This avoids the problem with the fonts.
Not ideal but it may help some people.

I think QT_IM_MODULE=scim should go away in dapper, and use xim instead.
Let me mention this again, the qt patch and qtimm in dapper is
incompatible with 3rd-party qt apps, if you want to use qtimm, you
shuold wait untail qt support it directly(impossible in dapper).

On Edgy I am able to run Rhythmbox, totem-gstream and quod libet all at
