Tested on current Dapper build latest update, Tilda opens fine when
using repository version.
More information would be useful. Especially whether you are building
from source and if you are fully updated. Steps to replicate would be
useful otherwise.

(USB, parallel, ethernet, ...)?
If your printer is on the parallel port, have it turned on while booting
and run

If you do not have output, do (printer must be connected and

The symbolic link trick described by Douglas Green did the job for me.
It turned out that after upgrading /usr/X11R6/bin/X was pointing at /usr/bin/X
(in stead of /usr/bin/Xorg) and /usr/bin/X was pointing back at /usr/X11R6/bin/X

This bug remains in Dapper Drake and for servers without graphical interface is
impossible to use pt_BR.UTF-8 and be able to type accentuated characters at the
console. Changing the LANG variable to pt_BR using the ISO-8859-1 charset works.

Disregard my comment above, it was wrong. It's been pointed to me that
just choosing the Canadian layout, with no variant, is what we have to
do since ca(fr) _is_ the default Canadian layout variant. It's backward
from what we used to do in the past, but it work !

Yes this is a big problem for new users, the gui tools to share a folder
are deciving in that they don't actually make it possible to share a
folder with anyone else because you won't be able to authenticate to the
samba server as there are no accounts set up.
Ubuntu doesn't seem to have anything

When I try to refresh my keyring (containing 39 keys) it stops after some keys.
gpg lists requests for all keys but after receiving some keys (around 3-5) no
further keys get received and after some time gpg reports an keyserver timeout
and exits.

The problem seems to have fixed itself recently. I'm 99.99% positive
it's a bug in detection of sound drivers. The Gnome startup sound would
skip for about 10 minutes during boot and that would slow the computer
to a crawl. If I compiled a kernel without sound it was fine.

/etc/usplash.conf contains xres=1024 yres=768 by default because that's
the Xorg resolution i'm using. For some reason, usplash isn't able to
use it. It only outputs screen init failed. When i change the
