I've experienced this today on AMD 5600+ X2 machine with nVidia

I think I've found a workaround. I deleted my ~/.mozilla-thunderbird
folder after backing it up. I opened thunderbird, giving it a fresh
~/.mozilla-thunderbird folder. Using

as a reference, I copied the files
Finally it was not a bug but a misunderstanding of myself. I am sorry
for the bothering. I discovered it by downloading a different version.

As far as I understand it, the intel-rng.ko module is in charge of
initializing and using the hardware random number generator present on
some cpus/chipset combinations, mine doesn't have it (I don't know if
there was a version of the Omnibook 6100 which did); so removing it
should be pretty harmle
I'm having the same issues with the zlib from repositories on feisty. I tried
reinstalling the zlib package and also python-minimal (where zlib.so is located)

Well, the desktop no longer halts during startup ... but that appears to
be because the startup "Log in" system sound is not played.
I do get a successful "test" of Sound playback in gnome-sound-properties:
System -> Preferences -> Sound
then press the Test button for Soundplayback under Sound
Some additional observations:
*It seems the pressure sensitivity for the buttons has been disabled so they do
not show up as axis on jscalibrator.
*Though the two anolog sticks appear to function properly in JSCalibrate zsnes
will not recognize them (maybe this is a workaround)
*There is still

After installing the "kde" meta-package on a regular feisty install, the
permissions of /home/{user}/.kde are set incorrectly. They were
root:root with 700 and they are supposed to be {user}:{user} 766.

Same here. I cannot use flash in Opera at all. When I open a webpage
with flash content the operapluginwrap process stays at high cpu usage
for some seconds and then disappears. The place of the flash content is
then all grey. This happens with the Opera version provided by the
commercial canonical
