debian/control (according to the changelog, at least), it seems very
unlikely that the package is fixed.

Realtek say it "should" work, and it may just be a case of enabling the spdif
out put, which is controlled by the video drivers apparently.
I'll go back to abit (as nvidia won't support oem'ed hardware) and see if I can
get anything other than "sorry, we don't support linux" out of them.

I am having the same problem. I looked into it a bit and found that the
subtitles are not actually being XORed; I think what's happening is that
when the subtitles are alpha blended into the image, an 8-bit alpha
channel is being passed to a blending function designed for 4-bit alpha
channels, cau

I was also hit by this bug. Together with a non-working EVMS (see bug
#124641), it really gave me a hard time after upgrading my server...
For me, the workaround was to uninstall the EVMS package and manually
put in a startup script to detect the VGs, as panos lined out in the
comment above.

Switching off the animations plugin did NOT solve it. I've had two

It seems that I'm also affected by this particular problem on my old Hp
Omnibook XE2. I've got roaming mode enabled and network manager applet
sees wired connection, but never connects to it right away after boot. I
must manually choose wired connection, to receive ip address. My network
card is 3c
