I am using Hardy and this happen in all five testing machines with different
hardware configuration.
I decided to report this behavior because I consider it annoying to have two
steps action instead of one for saving files through Nautilus.

I can confirm this: I was going through a powerpoint of my unix class, when it
mentioned the command 'top' I immediately tried it out, and was a bit shocked
at how much cpu power OO was using(!)
I attached a screenshot of Impress and top.
This probably explains why the animations went to slow.

In response to my own input above: Pidgin, GIMP and other windows *do*
keep descending, just like Victor and Chris had originally reported for
Nautilus. Plus, the windows seem to move to the right by the width of
the decoration border, too; this should be a good clue to the
developers.

Poking around some known system administrators whom I know made me know
that this is the common behavior in Debian and other distributions as
well. It first checks the others membership, then group and then

I have deleted interdiffs for the gtk2 and kde packages, since this
upstream version has been released in Debian. I'm not particularly happy
that the Debian maintainer discarded my packaging, including the custom
get-orig-source script, but hey, his choice.

I have been working on a solution to this as well, as it seemed like an
appropriate introduction into Ubuntu packaging. I don't mean to step on
toes by uploading this before Miguel, but I figured I would since I
believe I have fixed it.
