I think I can confirm your solution. I haven't had any corrupted file
system problems any more since the 10th of May. I changed a couple of
things, among which switching from SATA compatibility mode to AHCI.
Since then the system is more or less stable. More or less, because I

To mount the DD, I need to click it, them a popup appear and ask me my
su password, and then I can access the hard-drive.
I would prefer it to automount, like

a Macintosh mouse, the mouse does not react at all, the keyboard does. I
replaced the mouse by a targus optical mouse, which, apart from being
perversly pink, works very well.

Thank you for clearing this up, Colin. Where is the best place to file a
bug report when a LiveCD doesn't boot (next time, for some other
reason)? Is the process of how the LiveCD documented somewhere? I found
the logs at http://people.ubuntu.com/~ubuntu-archive/livefs-build-logs/
and
anyone has a solution?

can't complete. Everytime I try in FTBFS although debian buildd logs
