I'm having this same issue on my eeepc 900. When this happens the wifi
usually stops working also. If I boot from a USB stick everything works
fine. libpulse0 is installed, but removing it will uninstall much of
KDE, so I doubt this is a feasible option.
Any ideas of a fix here?

To be more acurate, on my U100 the mouse was unusable after a few
seconds, cursor moved but click has no effect. Removing the psmouse
module at startup solved this issue.
So I put only the following command (and not the other one which reloads the
unwished module) in /etc/rc.local :

reduce the modules-needed-for-boot, which left out "tun". I was able to
solve this by just "sudo modprobe tun" before attempting to start an

Whenever I press the "brightness up" or "brightness down" function keys
on my laptop, the event registers in xev, but any subsequent attempts to
press "brightness up", "brightness down", or any function key
combination takes anywhere from 20 seconds

2. Browse to dektop/gnome/interface
3. Check "buttons_have_icons"

Hi, confirming for kubuntu 9.10 (wpa_supplicant 0.6.4-2) with a netgear
WG511v2 (ndiswrapper Marvell 88w8335) PC card in a dell inspiron 1100
connecting to a WPA2 AP.
Without the usleep - it connected very rarely. With the usleep (used
10us), works every time!
