Immediately after install of Maverick on Dell Inspiron 9100 the
networking has become very unstable. When an application attempts to
establish a network connection (eg. Firefox connect to Google) the
system intermittently hangs. No mouse, no keyboard, no activity of any
kind.
Maverick Netbook Edition LC_TIME is not being respected. The dconf-
editor workaround did not fix it when set to locale-default. Using
dconf-editor to force 24 hour time resolves the issue, but it is still a
workaround rather than a fix. Checking LC_TIME time is preferable.

I did not have USBMOUNT installed, however I tried installing it, same issue,
uninstalled same issue. Tried to chmod the device as suggested and received
"Read-only file system" for every file on it. However, permissions on all files

I want to add that similar to several other users having problems also
with their mice, I started to have my mouse pointer (the touchpad or
trackpoint, I'm not using a USB mouse) lagging for several seconds out
of nothing, after a fresh install of 10.10. I don't know if the modprobe

The underlying import problem seems to be something to do with raw
files, as the jpeg versions of the files imported at the same time seem
to have been imported correctly, from a dump of the photos.db:

Great to know, thanks Tony.
The question that leads to, though, is how did this fix not make it into
10.10, when it was released months ago? I don't really understand the
Ubuntu release process, but surely over 3 months is enough time to pull
in an important bugfix that is patched and ready to go

Lee, sorry for the long response. I've got word back about the camera
situation. The new kernel patches appear to have worked! Although the
camera does not work as a microphone (but I think this may have been
intentional on your part? If I'm not mistaken, your custom kernel has no
usb sound drivers
