No, this problem doesn't seem to exist anymore. I think the work around was
also to disable the floppy drive in the BIOS which helped too.
I am not using the same machine regularly now, after buying a new one a
few months ago.

According to Bram Moolenaar (vim developer) a patch to support multi-byte
characters in 'langmap' was added with vim 7.2.109.
The vim version in Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) contains already that patch. Sergey,
can you check if you still have the problem?

resize the text (CTRL+ / CTRL-) which characters are affected change.

to test using the 'stress' app (available in Ubuntu Software Center).

I did some testing on 10.10. No surround sound on S/PDIF no matter what
I've tried. VLC gives static noise instead of surround sound. mplayer
with -ao alsa -ac hwac3 gives nothing, just silence, using Alsa directly
in any media player with possibility of S/PDIF passthrough gives
silence. Only using
I confirm that chag's packages are fixing the bug with my NVidia+One
flatscreen and no Xinerama setup. However, the options for TwinView are
still in my xorg.conf, not sure what happens if I remove them.

wanted to tell you and everyone else not to get their hopes up because
pinch gesture is horrible on a touchpad. Just try it on W7. The
resolution is too low, the touchpads are too small to do any useful
pinching.

Hi, Monkey; thanks for getting back to me.
I am, by now, using a current version of Ubuntu, and I've had no
problems with it or its bootloader, so as far as I'm concerned we can

Same problem here, using my Acer 4520 with Atheros AR5001 wireless card.
Besides this, I've notice that when I disable wifi network using Network
Manager the option becomes gray and I can't turn it on anymore. Wifi
network only works fine with kernel 2.6.32.

I have a folder in my home directory, which is automatically mounted(fstab)
nfs-share. Tracker seemed to work fine on all files except those in that
folder. All the directories were found
My issue only freezes the mouse pointer (System is still stable and
responds to KB commands). I did remove Pulseaudio last night and
installed oss4, if anything the freeze came even quicker, I've since
gone back to pulseaudio.
For what it's worth, I leave my system running all night playing either

work but the ones not at dict.org works.

This is happening in Maverick, Lucid, and Natty on my computers...
I may be able to supply information if I can. I am guessing the dict.org
server is having problems.
Is there another server that is english that can be used while the dict.org

the corresponding LAN port in the Router/Modem/Switch/AP-Box (AVM FritzBox

Same problem here with HP Pavilion Notebook 1.6GHz. Mouse, keyboard
delay and bad audio/video stutter every 10 seconds and correlated to

Can someone please re-confirm fix and updated package details? MSN was
broke, i received an update (now running empathy-2.32.0.1-0ubuntu1) and
yes, empathy now connects to MSN, however all my "buddies" are offline
even though I can see them online with other clients.
