I am having this same problem on a Dell Latitude E6510 laptop, so
certainly a different motherboard, but perhaps some of the same

This is getting worst. I am on a netbook, 1024x600, and now even mail is
difficult to read. If I switch from the main view to the calendar view,
the main windows grows in vertical, and after that I can't reduce it
back to fit in the 600-panel height of the screen. Not even to the full
600 pixels.

This is in fact not a bug, the shortcut label is copied from the name of
the menu when you create the shortcut, it is not meant to be dynamically
translated. The user should switch to the desired language before
creating the shortcuts - this should not be a major annoyance.

I ran into issues trying to fix my display (MX 440-SE). I tried a few
things : downloading a couple of nvidia packages with Synaptic, then ran
nvidia-xconfig as root and now my xconf.org is broken. I tried using
the backedup one, but even at that X does not start the way it should.

I managed to get this to work with the maverick kernel by catting "rc6" rather
than "rc-6" to /sys/class/rc/rc0/protocols.

The first time, the keyboard shotrcut doesn't work. But once I use the
menu and then after that the shortcut works for as long as the window is
open. But if I close the gnome-terminal window and reopen it, the
problem begins again for 1 more time.
