If I look in synaptics what are the installed files from a package like
unity-webapps-gmail, I can see that there is nothing in
/usr/share/applications/
So I guess that the problem is that the corresponding .dektop files are
not installed.

In reply to comme #1, I can't uninstall the "xubuntu-desktop" package
because I want the other applications to be updated incase a dependancy
was missing in the previous version of the package.
Thus I need to be able to remove the "rfkill" package but keep "xubuntu-
desktop".

3.7.0-030700rc1-generic (there was only a problem installing fglrx but
the kernel has installed well).

Well, I backed up another folder that was 4.2GB in size, and it worked
perfectly fine w/o this issue. So maybe it's the actual content of the
original folder that has issues?
