In Ubuntu kernel version 4.15, Downstream Port Containment (DPC) is set too
aggressively and will trigger DPC on NON-FATALs. In newer kernels it is set to
trigger on FATALs.
Additionally, the DPC will consume the interrupt before passing it on to AER

have a new Asus u46e with a ssd. The battery life is horrible (I am
currently timing it to give you an accurate number) and the fan is
constantly running. It doesn't do this in Windows. I need a fix badly so

@IKT: I'm assuming they don't (I'm not aware of WMF ever granting such a
license), but I wouldn't be surprised if WMF would offer a limited
license for this purpose, since they rely on Ubuntu, and there's not a

Sorry for the delay Oliver. By "time format" preferences I mean the
12/24hr option. Even though I have 12 hour selected, I still only have
the 24 hour format to work with when making a new appointment.

Work week preference is not the only one not responding for me. Time
format preferences do not respond. Neither does "compress weekends in
month view" (I do not want them compressed). I'm sure others are
included as well.

Just had a kernel update, but the problem persists even in the newer
kernel.

I'm having problems with my triple-head setup, but I'm not using intel
drivers. I am using the Nvidia 173 driver with my two Geforce FX5200
cards. When I revert to the latest 9.10 kernel all problems cease.
Could it be that there is a problem with how X is handling multi-head
setups in the newer

I'm also experiencing this problem when trying to boot Ubuntu Server
10.04 RC in vmware. I've had no problems with 9.10.
I hit "Install Ubuntu Server" and then only get a blank screen with a
cursor in the top left.
Holding shift, and adding "nomodeset single" does not do anything
different.

What I found helped out was going into my BIOS settings at boot-up time
with F11. Then going into the Power tab and disabling ACPI. Then I
still get about 10 errors like the one above when I startup, but at
least its not the constant log filling that was happening before. I
found some documentat
