This seems to be installed correctly, the "missing part" is strange, you
will likely need to research some more by running kdesvn in a console
window and watch for more information or resort to using "strace kdesvn"
and find out which library it reports as missing in your installation.

After a lot of digging into the various involved components including
some "stracing" I found out why it didn't work and how to fix this:
It seems the default applications are found via .desktop files in
/home//.local/share/applications. I had some older entries in
there, probably from Ubuntu edit
Changing the default browser under "System settings - Information -
Default-Applications - Web" has effect, although changing back to
firefox does not fix it.
Changing the command in the gnome property browser under "/desktop/gnome
/url-handlers/http/command" does not have any effect on gnome-open

When I try to open a file that seems to have characters in a different
encoding, geany silently refuses to open the file, only the status area
has a comment about it. Also if I force the encoding, it just cuts off
at the first non-matching character
I looked at the installed drivers and saw that I had different ones for
device HP5000 and HP5000onepage. Only the "onepage" driver had trouble.
This one had a driver of "HP LaserJet 5000 Series Postscript
(recommended)", when I switched to "HP LaserJet 5000 hpijs, 3.10.2" it
worked again.
