I installed the patched indicator on three different machines and
haven't had any trouble with the indicator functionality. I've also

Also i think its trying to display gdm not freezing. You just cant ctrl
alt del out of it because it brought down your keyboard. Once gdm loads
the keyboard would normally be brought back up. You should notice, or at

I do think that it is 'getty' that is clearing the screen. I put some
'echo' comments in /etc/init/tty1.conf and what is echo'd right before
getty is started is on the boot screen and the next thing the screen is
cleared and the information in /et

As suggested I created a project page for the patch code
(https://launchpad.net/evolution-indicator-wmtaf). Bugs concerning the
packages hosted on my ppa can be reported there.
On the other hand the patched code is intended to implement the close to
tray functionality described in the bug report

Julien: New bug fixed... You should be able to close message windows
(and hopefully any other "extra" windows) normally now.
As for the special flag, if only it were that simple. The evolution
devs are pretty adamant about not adding a "windowless" mode to
evolution so there is no such flag. R
Thanks for the feedback! I've updated the repository with some bug
fixes. Evolution should reappear on the taskbar and in the pager after
you restore it and you should be able to compose->close evolution->send
without evolution quitting on you.

Well, good news everyone. Turns out there were some significant
upgrades to evolution from lucid to maverick. Because of that I've been
able to implement all of the features I had working in lucid *entirely*
within the evolution-indicator package without any sort of hackery.
