Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xfce4-xkb-plugin 1. Applications -> Settings -> Keyboard Settings, Layouts. By default, it's "Use X configuration", so it will ignore XFCE-set values. 2. Uncheck "Use X configuration", and add one more layout to the default one. Close the dialog. 3. Cha

I am trying to get a life (I am getting older and I don't want to switch distros like a mad man just because they're buggier than all the other operating systems), and I am pissed off by the inability of the (K)Ubuntu team to understand what QA is -- because only Mandriva is buggier than (K)Ubuntu!

If 2.6.20 is about forcing users to have PATA disks treated bu the SATA driver, then let's do it CONSISTENTLY! Nobody has the moral right to force Linux users to use UUIDs or labels when using device names is still possible in /etc/fstab and in other places! One might depend on backup software th

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: kernel-image-2.6.20-16-386-di With Ubuntu Feisty, each and every kernel update switches the forcefully use of libata for PATA drives from ON to OFF to ON to OFF... Here's what I've experienced with Kubuntu 7.04: * kernel 2.6.20-12: IDE (PATA) /dev/hda go

[Bug 66637] Re: After running mkswap, swap space is discarded, system fails to hibernate (invalid swap signature)

2007-06-06 Thread Radu Cristian Fotescu
I can confirm this on Kubuntu Feisty: when I updated the initial kernel (the first update after the installation from the CD), not only the libata was gone and sdX reverted to hdX, but the swap UUID was changed, thus not being used anymore, and the hibernation failed! Manually updating fstab fixed

NOTE: even if reported for Kaffeine, the bug is definitely in the X server or in the savage driver. No matter what would happen to Kaffeine, it's unacceptable to crash the whole X. The bug _won't_ be find in Kaffeine, but it could be a starting point (unless everybody is using an nvidia card). -

So maybe it's an upstream bug in the "savage" driver?! So far, it only shows with "savage" on a S3 Savage driver card! However, on the same hardware, there are _no_ similar problems with distros like Pardus 2007.1, or Mandriva 2007.1 RC3, using "savage" too! I can't afford to reinstall Kubuntu on

Yes, it is an audio-only file. We might need to try it with a "simple" video driver, not with nVIDIA nor ATI. It happened to me with "savage". Maybe some updates happened meanwhile that could have possibly fixed it in the process. Everything was valid at the moment when I filed the bug. That Ku
