here's the version it's reporting now: cat /proc/asound/version Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23. Compiled on Aug 26 2010 for kernel 2.6.32-24-generic (SMP). seems like it updated to the latest. i can't find alsaconf command though...don't know if that's necessary. it see
