This seems to be resolved. I've upgraded to 9.04 on both my laptops and
I haven't had backlight issues since.

In 8.10 the system would never shut down for me. Now it seems to

I've unfortunately reproduced this bug... it is a total pain...
Any ideas on a work around? I'm googling to find some way to be able to

This is broken in hardy and the tablet has to be configured manually. I
can confirm this is an issue. Hardy does not detect my ThinkPad X61T as
a tablet and does not enable the WACOM tablet / display by default. As
a user, you must manually change your xorg.conf file.

This is the dialog I get for PDFs...
I've deleted the entire .mozilla directory and that didn't change the
file open / save dialog for PDFs.

I just tried a "rescan collection ... it took about 10 seconds. WAY too
short, especially since the media share is over the network.
I deleted my .kde/apps/amarok/collection* files... and did a rescan it
it looks ok... we'll see what happens if I run a rescan / update

I can reproduce this... with a fresh install of 1.4.8 (as of a week
ago.)
A full rescan doesn't fix it -- it just adds more entries.
My filenames and directories aren't "odd" like the above bug describes.

It's partially fixed... does anybody else have the issue with opening

In Firefox 3.0b3 I could choose which application to open the PDF with.
These are "streaming PDFs" ... meaning they're generated on the fly by

Yeah, In my solution I didn't mean that you'd need to document each
city's timezone -- only if there was something unique about it... you
should be able to just map countries and potentially states / regions of
countries... *IF* you needed anything at all.

I've tried printing to a network HP JetDirect printer (IP-based) and
directly to the "PDF" printer... both crash on "preparing".
I installed with Alpha4 a month ago... and have been updating daily.

Ok :) I saw the new xlibs today and the new intel driver and then the
email about the bug being fixed and I thought I'd better try it again :)

I am running the latest xserver-xorg-video-intel ... updated this
morning / last night and I am still having this issue when running 3d
applications in WINE. It restarts X without any warning.

I tested the pen / drawing functionality in CellWriter and that works
great... the lines are nice and smooth and they follow my cursor
immediately while I'm drawing / writing...
So this must be something inside of Xournal? And not related to X?

I'm 100% up to date on packages for Hardy 8.04 x64 - Alpha6.
When picking a location for the city of Hibbing, Minnesota, USA -- the
time zone defaults to America/Atikokan ... which is Eastern Standard
Time (-5 GMT,) but all of Minnesota is Central
Apparently there was a bug where the linux sound "system" would put the
card in a very BAD state... I could not get my sound back even by
reinstalling.
The fix, believe it or not, was to boot into Windows which reset the
sound card on boot -- then sound worked fine.

This was working fine for me on my ThinkPad X61T laptop until the latest
Kernel this worked fine.
With the latest kernel (24-11) my laptop display now properly displays
after resuming from suspend, but now I cannot control the brightness
through the Gnome applet or the function keys on my keyboard

This has been fixed for over a month and a half from the MESA library
developers...
We're currently waiting for the Ubuntu package maintainers to recompile

I can confirm this on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 64-bit Updated as of today.
Delete or Delete All gives the error:
"Error Removing File: File Exists"
Prompting you to Skip, Skip All or Cancel... with all three options just
closing the delete dialog while leaving all files selected for deletion.
