Apparently there was a bug where the linux sound "system" would put the card in a very BAD state... I could not get my sound back even by reinstalling. The fix, believe it or not, was to boot into Windows which reset the sound card on boot -- then sound worked fine. I had the instance when sound

I've updated to the latest 2.6.24-8 kernel and the problem is happening... When I was running 2.4.24-4 fresh from the Alpha4 install CD things were working fine. After the update things worked until I restarted (2nd time) after installing 2.4.24-8. I've tried installing PulseAudio... no good...
