I think I fixed the problem of the repeating message that appears in dmesg tail - ath5k noise floor calibration failed on my system. I am using kernel 2.6.31-16-generic. I blacklisted ath5k and ath9k then listed ath5k in /etc/modules. hope this helps. -- ath5k phy0: noise floor
