As Leann Ogasawara suggested, I tried the Hardy Alpha CD. Suspend and resume WORKS PERFECTLY on that cd, I tried 5-6 times. As he said, I couldn't try hibernate, but now that Hardy uses the hal-info backend, this bug is resolved for me (my machine is present in the hal-info database). Thanks a

The Hardy Heron Alpha series was recently released. Alpha2 and subsequent releases contain an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/ . You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD.
