Thanks for your feedback, I fixed a number of bugs in the scripts that
generate the ddtp translations recently and hope to do anohter upload
soon. I already uploaded it to jaunty, to test just switch (temporarely)
to jaunty, apt-get update and use apt-cache (or synaptic) to browse the
descriptions.
After enabling intrepid-proposed and apt-get update, the problems was
fixed:
$ apt-cache show amsn | grep ^Description
Description-es: Mensajero MSN escrito en Tcl
$ apt-cache show gnome-games | grep "Description\|Version"
Version: 1:2.24.1.1-0ubuntu1
Description-es: Juegos del escritorio GNOME

Michael, the bug is still NOT solved today (2008-11-28):

Michael, could you please update the package descriptions for Intrepid?
There are strings translated in Launchpad but showing untranslated in
apt.
For example: "An MSN messenger written in Tcl" (the aMSN short
description). It's translated here since 2008-08-14:

Thanks a lot for verifying this fix. I added a hardy task (for apt, the
ddtp translations can not be associated with hardy unfortunately) as a
reminder.
I'm a bit hesitant with the update to hardy because if there are bad
translations, that may break apt-get update (because apt-get is not very

Thank you very much, Michael.
It seems to be solved for intrepid! Now I can see the package
description for amule & adept-manager in their corresponding
Translation-es files, although the translations aren't in hardy. It
could be great if the bug was fixed in hardy, too, due to its LTS
nature.

Thanks for your bugreport.
I debugged this behavior today and it seems to be caused by a "feature"
in the script that builds the translations file for apt. It used to only
add a package to this translations file if all the bits of its
description were translated. This caused a lot of packages like
The problem is in main, too. Not only in universe. See the adept-manager

The translation is not in Translation-es (Hardy & Intrepid).
