I'd first try and make sure this is not your CD drive starting to fail.
You mentioned you have windows installed, does the CD drive work

Alright so it looks like you are right I am having trouble with my CD drive
which is just weird. But the bug seems to be in both 9.04 and 9.10 where my CD
drive doesn't work. But once I tried creating a live USB it installed right
away. I am talking about 9.04. But to be nice I also tried instal

happens if you try to use usb-creator to create a Live USB instead and
what the result is from booting from the Live USB?

Alright so I am sorry that last time I didn't give the exact error message but
here it is. This is when I try to load the latest beta of ubuntu. 9.10 alpha 4.
I try to load the live cd and this error message comes up. "stdin: error 0".
then it says "/init: line 1: can't open /dev/sdc: No medium"

Indeed having the exact error message would be helpful.
Could you also try removing the "quiet" and "splash" boot params when
trying to boot with the LiveCD? I think if you press F6? from the main
menu you should be able to modify the boot params. Do any more
information error messag
Hey I just downloaded and tried the latest version of karmic. This means
that it was the alpha 4. And the same thing happened that happened when
I tried to install this as what happened when I tried to install 9.04.
The live cd looks like it is going to load so it asks what language you
want to use
