[Bug 219662] [NEW] Hardy - No network connectivity on fresh install
You have been subscribed to a public bug: It seems that on fresh installs (in this test-case context, a eeePC), a DHCP lease is not pulled. This is with a daily-build from yesterday. If a DHCP lease is managed to be pulled, DNS fails to resolve shortly thereafter. Will include output of lspci and lsmod when I am able to. [Bug 287420] [NEW] likewise winbindd dumps core on startup
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: likewise-open This bug seems similar to a couple of others but the behaviour's not quite the same. The startup script appears to execute successfully during boot and there are no obvious errors from lwinet, but a core is dumped in /var/log/likewise-open/cores/winbindd and I cannot log on to our domain (Konsole displays a dialogue box which simply says Error, with no further details) until I do sudo /etc/init.d/likewise-open restart. [Bug 287126] Re: /var/lib/tomcat6/temp not writable by tomcat
Steve: I replicated what was done on Tomcat 5.5 packages but I agree Tomcat should certainly use something more appropriate for $CATALINA_BASE/temp. Tomcat in general doesn't play well with FHS as it expects to find everything in a single directory. However, as is done for the $CATALINA_BASE/conf or $CATALINA_BASE/work files, we could certainly symlink /var/lib/tomcat6/temp to something more FHS-compliant. [Bug 227848] Re: boot order wrong for iscsi
Suggestion of text for the Intrepid release note (from Etienne Goyer): File systems hosted on iSCSI targets may not be mounted automatically at boot time, even if they have an entry in /etc/fstab, if a bridged or bonded Ethernet interface is required to reach the iSCSI target. As a work-around, you would have to restart the open-iscsi service and manually mount the file system in question after system boot, once the required network interface have been brought up. [Bug 287374] [NEW] [Intrepid] Suspend fails when telling pm-utils to use uswsusp
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pm-utils After setting SLEEP_MODULE in /etc/pm/config.d/00sleep_module to uswsusp, suspend becomes impossible. This is a regression, because in Hardy, suspend was possible even when uswsusp was chosen as the suspend method. The reason for this bug is that the uswsusp code in pm-utils tries to use s2ram to suspend, which does not exist, because its build was disabled (see Bug #134238). In previous versions, pm-utils fell back onto the kernel method when it could not find s2ram. This bug appeared in Bug #267141 when pm-utils auto-detected uswsusp and used it instead of the kernel method. The resolution for Bug #267141 in a patch provided by James Westby was to remove the auto-detection code completely, but that does not fix the issue I have highlighted. And finally, there are two possible fixes (which I can see) for this: 1. Patch /usr/lib/pm-utils/module.d/uswsusp to fall back on kernel for check_suspend and do_suspend (The attached patch will do just that) 2. Re-enable the s2ram build in uswsusp ** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [Intrepid] Suspend fails when telling pm-utils to use uswsusp https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/287374 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I launched the upgrade with the command kdesudo 'adept_manager --dist-upgrade-devel' Once the upgrade completed I restarted and tried to log in. I observed the same symptoms reported by Celeste. [Bug 132226] Re: please apply xml-optimizations to speed up the desktop
I am running intrepid, but i am no longer running these scripts. Although I do suspect these scripts still increase the launch speed, it's the wrong type of solution. I downloaded the NVidia driver from http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_177.80.html, killed the running X server, installed the driver, and ran 'startx'. I mean, while we're using proprietary binary drivers and not worrying about packages (because it's just a livecd), why not splurge? [Bug 272896] Re: intrepid - after upgrade to kernel 2.6.27 i cannot upgrade nor i can navigate internet
the problem is being addressed upstream (kernel.org, see please http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11721) so i think that in few days it is solved there and ubuntu developpers will follow through. yesterday i was given a patch to apply to the kernel source and after having compiled the 2.6.27.2 kernel the problem had disappeared, so either you wait a few days or you can compile yourself in order to test the patch in your environment (it would be useful, i think). if you want to follow this second option, download the kernel source http://kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/linux-2.6.27.2.tar.bz2 , untar it, apply the patch i attach to this message and compile and install the new kernel. let me know if the new kernel solves your issue. i assume you know how to patch and compile a kernel, if not let me know. aldo ** Attachment added: ilpo_new_patch http://launchpadlibrarian.net/18791714/ilpo_new_patch -- intrepid - after upgrade to kernel 2.6.27 i cannot upgrade nor i can navigate internet https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/272896 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 239774] Re: Subtotal function not summing correct when using autofilter
Hi Chris, I can confirm that your described solution solved the problem. I'm sure that your suggested fix did not work when I submitted the bug also because I was able to reconstruct the error in the example I attached (which is not my original file). Is it possible that another update has corrected the bug? - and thanks!
