could boot up my server with and old 2.6 series kernel.

Gparted has my entire hard drive as UNALLOCATED,
and the operating sistem recognize 255 o maybe more partitions, it sounds
crazy,bit is darn real.
Those extra partitions appeared after i tried to install windows seven 64 bits
without success, with the rest of my ubuntu

- (it is a system with precise 12.04 LTS installed)
- removed /.rpmdb/ (I did it just for fun, without any reason)
- made sure /.rpmdb/ is not here
- installed updates with update-manager
- One day later, I checked /.rpmdb/ and it was there again.

cx88xx freezes kernel when using SMP

It is not as good as I thought first: the kernel does not freeze anymore. but 2
of 3 times, the module doesn't initialize properly with
3.5.0-030500rc3-generic. There are some dmesg (full log attached):

modprobe.blacklist=cx88xx I was again not able to boot my system
today. I wish there were debugging options in upstart: 1) more debug

I agree that this seems more like a bug in synaptic, and I'll file a bug report
to that effect.
However, I want to point out that I can trigger the bug even when both
auto-show and word suggestions are disabled.

Under Ubuntu saucy 13.10, the problem is still here. Since I'm not using
Xnest anymore, and I currently don't have much time, I will not do any
tests with the development image. But possibly another one after release
of 14.04
