Mr. Deslauriers, thank you for explaining. Just so I'm clear: Chromium
security fixes are NOT backported like you described as being done for
VLC. Instead, you simply update the version (hence, why it can cause
other problems/bugs). Don't you think it was a problem to leave security
yes it's working for me now. I found the program was related to an 11.04
install that crashed on 99%, affecting some of the start-up services or
programs, but I've reinstalled those.

I disabled UFW so no firewall was on, but this also did not change the

I have an MPC ClientPro 414 All-in-One II and I'm getting a similar
situation as the OP. Luckily, I'm just getting the black screen when I
try the LiveCD (I haven't tried installing yet) and when I reboot into
XP, everything works just fine.

The letter A from the word Humans is clearly missing. This happens with
all documents from this company.

Mark, you likely have a mess on your hands now. Good luck.
And did I mention that this is a REGRESSION? Anyone listening? I
thought REGRESSIONS were given a high priority. This worked in 9.04. I
bought this usb wifi adapter based on the FACT that it worked plug and
play in 9.04.
REGRESSION!
Ubuntu Natty 2.6.38-7-server AMD64 - same issue, same hardware. Tried
updating to the Alpha build just to see, but no difference.

It is evident that Canonical's priorities do not include wifi. You can
go to Ubuntuforums and see a constant flow of problems related to wifi.
The same problems over and over, year after year. I could somewhat
understand this if we were dealing with companies that do not
