Well it worked for a day, but this afternoon the computer was back to
not reading or acknowledging the existence of the optical drives or a
USB drive and Disk Utility fails to load more than a blank screen. the
reinstal of the linux kernel with Synaptic did not work this time.

Well, i messed up things trying to fix this problem, i've been following
different directions and one of them was to install a backport module for
wireless.

As soon as gdm as been started, my laptop goes in standby mode (don't
ask me why) and when it has been manually resumed, the mouse pointer is
not visibile.

Please reconsider enabling CONFIG_TASK_DELAY_ACCT. Just because there is
a slight penalty in some use cases doesn't motivate disabling it, when
iotop and possibly other valuable tools are not working as they should.

The contact edit fields in the Evolution UI don't seem to support the
notion of preferred designations among field sets of the same type and I
suspect that the underlying storage schema doesn't either. However this
